batch project update

(Three weeks na lang at malaki-laki pa ang kailangan naming pondo para sa batch project. Para sa mga gustong sumuporta, eto ang detalye:)

Katig is a non-profit organization composed of Batch 1996 high school graduates of Holy Infant Academy of Calapan, Mindoro. As a kick-off activity for its tenth anniversary, it is raising funds to provide school supplies for around fifty (50) incoming Grade 1 students of Silonay Elementary School for school year 2006-2007.

Barangay Silonay is a coastal community that depends primarily on fishing. Fish catch is often disappointing, and the prices at which fish is sold in the local market are often measly. This is why parents find it difficult to pay for their children’s school expenses come June.

Katig seeks to be of help by shouldering a portion of the estimated P1,000 that each new Grade 1 student at Silonay Elementary School needs to pay for registration fees, bags, uniforms and school supplies. In this regard, the organization would like to ask you to sponsor at least one child via a cash donation of P 500 or higher.
